Board Open House November 14 at 4pm!

The Astoria Warming Center is looking to expand our Board of Directors and hopes that you can pass along this invitation to your networks. On Sunday, November 14th at 4 PM, we'll host an Open House via Zoom for potential board members. Current board members and staff will be in attendance to answer questions.

The Astoria Warming Center has served as an inclement weather shelter for 90 days a year for the past 7 years. We are hoping to grow our capacity to provide housing solutions in the community, and we will continue to collaborate with other organizations. Board members work with the Executive Director to ensure our current mission as well as articulate our vision for the future. 

Future Board members:

• Show a willingness to collaborate
• Have a heart for homelessness solutions in Astoria
• Can commit 4-6 hours per month (meetings, email, and fundraisers)
• Can be reimbursed for the cost of childcare during our monthly meeting
• Are not required or pressured to donate or volunteer in the Center
